We ended up going to the MET around closing, and key tip, although you won't get to see a whole lot because it's such an enormous museum, the last hour is a 'pay as you wish' fee so if you're on a budget, I'd definitely recommend! And of course, if you have time, definitely visiting Dumbo or Williamsburg which is a quick train ride over won't disappoint.
